Now, officially, not just on my word, the rumour mill can stop turning. We now know for official that the game hasn’t been dropped and the DLC1 is still coming. More interesting though is this:

The team up at Eden is working around the clock

Eden themselves are still working on the game. Now with a more concentrated team presumably. It’s nice to know that Atari have kept them on board. Hopefully both companies have learnt from their mistakes and will communicate more with their customers. More importantly though, hopefully the DLC1 will be coming as soon as possible.

But, we do have to remember, there is still no date on it. Could we get back into another cycle of the ‘Classic Atari Soon‘? I sure hope not. I’ll try to keep you as up to date with what’s going on during this time of rapid commencement. (Ooops, maybe I shouldn’t have jinxed it!)

$205,000 for 20 minutes work isn’t too bad, but grinding away for that length of time might get a bit boring. I think I’ll give all of them a go – but the repeating looks the best option! What’s your favourite method? Leave a comment.

Sorry for the lack of posts – I’m currently doing my exams! Anyway, I’ve got a very interesting post for you all today. In short, the Exploration Pack is definitely still coming and it hasn’t been dropped or canned or binned or anything.

How do I know this? Well, as you may have seen, I contacted GMDestra a while back asking for an update, but sadly he was unable to give me any details. Despite this, I emailed him again, to see if he could updates us once more. Perhaps unsurprisingly he said he no longer was related to TDU2 and had been “transitioned to a completely different project” – not looking good. But, he did manage to give me another email, this time for the Social Media Manager for TDU2. (considering the fact Erik Reynolds never replied to me)

So, on a limb, I thought I’d drop this guy an email hoping for the best. I asked the standard question:

can you confirm that the patches for Xbox 360 have or have not been sent to Microsoft & Sony for approval?

And although he didn’t directly answer this question he did say in his reply:

I can however tell you that the DLC Exploration Pack is definitely coming.

Then later reiterated:

I can confirm the patch is still coming

The powerful words of ‘definitely’ and ‘confirm’ were refreshing to hear after all of the TDU2 rumours that have been hurled around in recent weeks. So then, we can finally put to bed the rumour that Test Drive Unlimited 2 has been dropped by Atari, which is pretty good to know. However, we still don’t have a date for the patch, so I guess patience is the key still – if you have any left!

At this point, I was hoping for a quick reply saying ‘Yes… they have been sent for approval and now it is out of our hands…’ or something along those lines. Sadly, that isn’t what I received:

What does this mean then? One, GMDestra actually doesn’t know or, two, he doesn’t want to break it to us that the patch hasn’t even been sent off to Microsoft and Sony. I would like to believe the former, however the latter seems more plausible as he is the head of the community team for TDU2, so surely he gets notified of everything. But saying that, we all know that communication at Atari is a problem, so maybe he genuinely doesn’t know!

I’ve sent an email to Erik and and am waiting on a reply now. I’ll make sure to keep you all up to date!

As we’ve had very little news on the console DLC, here’s a poll for you. So here’s the question, which of the following cars in the poll would you prefer to have in real life? I decided to only put 4 cars in, rather than list many as the cars are hard to compare – however these four hyper cars are in direct competition. Personally, I think I would have the Pagani Zonda. Why? Well, it’s just so ‘out-of-this-world’ and different, it has to be my favourite. What about you? Vote below!

However, what is more important is the fact we have had some communication from the TDU2 team. This is the first contact we have had from them since May 25th (even then it was limited) and before that  My the May 10th. As this maintenance was for all platforms, it could be a sign that the patch for the consoles is coming. They may have had to tinker with the servers for the consoles before the patch is released, things could be looking up. Well, lets hope this theory is true.

Personally, I’ve only got to a level 2 tournament. I haven’t managed to progress yet due to being kicked out of a couple of games due to a dodgy internet connection (Damn you!) But, I’ll keep trying! Leave a comment and tell me how much you enjoy/hate the casino.
